I grew up in a culinary household — my dad is a chef, and the kitchen has been the center of our family for as long as I can remember. I was in there alongside him from an early age, learning to love food, flavors, and the way something made with care can bring people together.
Baking was always my thing specifically. While my dad cooked, I baked. Cakes for birthdays, treats for family gatherings, experiments just because I wanted to try something new.
After high school I worked a summer job to learn how a small business operates, and I've continued working at a dental lab — but baking never stopped being my passion. When friends and family kept telling me I had something special, I decided to make it official.
I completed the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center course, earned my food handler's license, and launched Sissy's Sweets by Em.
